The History of Baileigh Industrial

Founded in 1999, Baileigh Industrial is now an international power house of manufacturing for both wood and metal. The company began life in Wisconson, founded by Stephen Nordstrom. Nordstrom began working on solutions to bend and turn metal pipes. The company started with a very niche offering, but soon expanded based on the needs of its customers. Today, Baileigh serves thousands of individuals and industries worldwide, with plans to expand into Australia and beyond. Today, the company handles the distribution and manufacture of these machines, but their beginnings were not concerned with projects so grandiose.

Baileigh’s Beginnings

At the time, the process of bending a pipe relied on several operations that carefully altered the shape of a pipe at various intervals until the perfect degree was achieved. Nordstrom and company constructed a machine that was capable of completing this process in one smooth action, using a dual hydraulic system. The Rotary Draw Bender 150 was the first hydraulic tool on the market that could bend a pipe at a 180 degree angle in one fluid motion. The dual hydraulic action allowed for greater range of motion and a faster bend that greatly improve efficiency for those who used it.

It was with the dawn of the RDB-150 that Baileigh began focusing on metal working exclusively. They released a number of tools for the purpose of bending and shaping metal, slowly working their way into the process of cutting metal as well.

Distribution and Manufacture

Over 5,000 dealers across the world sell tools that carry the Baileigh branding, including Baileigh itself. The company sells its machinery at cost to consumers, so businesses have the option to buy directly from a trusted distributor if they wish. Everything purchased packs and ships within 72 hours of completing the transaction, so new operations can get off the ground faster.

Growing Internationally

International expansion began in 2006, when the company opened its first international branch in Coventry, England. By 2010, they had opened another plant in Stutsgart, Germany. Domestically, the company also expanded to Ontario, California, where a wood working plant was opened.

Baileigh’s products are used heavily in industries from architecture to automotive design. Designers utilize metal shapers and rollers to cut accessories for doors and fences. Woodworking tools help shape the joints needed to construct tables or accessories for the home. Even the funeral industry uses metal rollers to create the polls that are mounted to the sides of a coffin, for pall bearers to carry the deceased for a final honoring before burial.
