About Ted Dhanik

October 31, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

Ted Dhanik is a founding partner of the integrated-media advertising company engage: BDR. Among other high-profile positions, Dhanik made headlines in the internet industry when his cutting-edge marketing strategy helped launch MySpace.com. Whether it is serving as president and executive president of business development at engage: BDR or managing client relationships, Dhanik has proven his skills as a major contributor to the world of online media. Here’s a look at how he got to be the head of his own company:

In 2007, Mr. Dhanik opened the doors of engage: BDR with the help of co-founder Kurtis Rintala. Kurtis is the COO of the company, while Dhanik oversees strategic marketing, sales and business development, client relationship management, and content acquisition. But before he launched his own company, Dhanik spent the previous five years working at MySpace.com. While at MySpace, Dhanik worked hard to come up with a unique marketing strategy — a combination of on- and off-line marketing campaigns — to help launch the brand in its infancy. He also contributed to developing several MySpace brands, including the concept for MySpace Celebrity.

But Dhanik was making headlines in the industry long before he started working at MySpace.  In 2001, he landed the job managing business development at LowerMyBills.com. He worked there for five years. One of his main contributions to the company was developing and launching the firm’s home equity product. In fact, he was chosen to accomplish this task because of how well he had performed at his previous job at Nextag.com. His hard work paid off. LMB’s new product made more than $20 million in its first year alone, and $75 million the second year.

While at Nextag.com, and the reason why LowerMyBills.com recruited Dhanik, he helped the company expand large enough to compete with the top companies in the industry, such as Lending Tree and LowerMyBills.com.

In the current job market, we are all trying to get an edge over the competition to land the job of our dreams.  This is no easy task though, as we all seek various trainings, colleges, and so on to get certifications and such to give us that edge.  One thing you may not consider is taking Microsoft Office training online courses to help you become more attractive to employers.

Computer skills, especially for anyone looking for a job in an office, are absolutely pivotal.  If you do not utilize Microsoft Office extensively every day, you can very easily lose the skills you have obtained over the years.  This can result if you not remembering how to make the use out of the features from Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or other Office products within the entire Office suite.  Taking a training course and being able to talk about what you learned on a cover letter or within an interview can show initiative and show employers you are serious about keeping up with technology.

K Alliance is one of the most well-known companies out there in terms of putting together great online courses for people to take to better improve their skills.  Even if you are already in a job, taking these courses can help your continuing professional development and education level.  Windows 7 online training videos as well as Microsoft SQL 2012 training videos are offered on top of Office trainings.  It is well worth taking a look as these can go a long way in getting you the job you desire.
